Don’t trust root canal therapy to a general dentist. As with any delicate procedure, you should reach out to specialists. And that is what you get with us at Aloha Endodontics. Our Kapolei root canal is done multiple times per day, every day. It’s not an occasional thing for us. And because of this, you can be assured that not only will the odds be in your favor for it to be successful, but you will remain comfortable and at ease during the process.
Our Kapolei root canal is the last chance to save your tooth. It’s needed because your pulp, which is located at the base of the tooth, on the inside, has become infected. Ordinarily, bacteria cannot penetrate your tooth’s defenses, which is the protective barrier of enamel around it. When you suffer a particularly large cavity (or even a deep filling), bacteria has a path inside. A chipped or cracked tooth offers the same access. You’ll know you need our Kapolei root canal when you experience pain that can range from mild all the way up to excruciating. This pain is most often felt when you apply pressure to the tooth or attempt to chew using it. Sensitivity to hot or cold foods and drinks is also common. Additional symptoms may include tooth discoloration and gum tenderness, though not in all situations. The procedure to treat the problem involves removing the pulp and nerve, cleaning the canals, disinfecting them, and sealing them. Some teeth have more than one canal, and therefore the procedure can take more than one session (and as many as three). If so, you will be fitted with a temporary crown to protect the tooth between visits.
Oral pain is never something you should ignore. Don’t put off contacting us. Our Kapolei root canal office will make every effort to have you seen in a timely manner.
